HEDGES, Bette M.

Age 84, formerly of Vandalia and Trotwood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2014. She was born on March 14, 1930 in Dayton, Ohio to her parents, Leroy & Helen (Rasor) Parlette.

Bette was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Robert M. Hedges; and daughter, Nancy M. Hedges. She is survived by her son, Ronald M. (Karen Eason) Hedges, daughter, Karen (Rob) McGaughey; son, David M. Hedges; son, Douglas K. (Phoebe) Hedges, son, Rev. Robert M. (Kathy) Hedges; and her sister, Margie Cooper, of Delaware. Bette raised 2 of her grandchildren, Shannon Ramsey Helser, and Carey Gibson, and had 15 more grandchildren that she loved dearly, along with 34 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and many more special family members and friends

Bette graduated from The Ohio State University and was a very proud Buckeyes fan. She worked as a C.R.N.A. and was an avid writer. She sung in the church choir and loved music, especially Elvis. Most importantly, she loved her family very much and will be missed.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, May, 6 at Rogers' Funeral Home, 324 W. Main St., New Lebanon, Ohio 45345. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Living Word Church, 926 National Road, Vandalia, Ohio 45377. Dr. Patrick Murray with be officiating.
